Reduce unnecessary purchases
Help households check what they already have before buying another package.
About Plenji
We are building a practical household management system that helps people understand what they have, what they need, and what should be used next.
The problem
Groceries and household supplies move through the home constantly. They are purchased, stored, consumed, moved, forgotten, duplicated, and sometimes discarded.
Shopping lists and receipt apps capture individual pieces of that process, but they rarely provide a complete picture of what is currently available.
Plenji is being designed to bring purchases, storage, quantities, expiration information, and usage together in one organized system.
Our purpose
Inventory tracking should lead to better decisions without becoming another household chore.
Help households check what they already have before buying another package.
Bring attention to products that should be used before they expire or are forgotten.
Use current inventory to support shopping decisions and household coordination.
How we are building it
Barcode and receipt scanning, smart defaults, and quick adjustments should minimize manual data entry.
The system should show where information came from and make corrections simple when household activity cannot be captured automatically.
The goal is not just to create lists. Household data should help people save money, reduce waste, and make better decisions.
Household members should be able to share one inventory and one shopping list without sharing passwords.
Scanning and the shopping list should keep working in the store, even when the connection doesn't.
Household purchase and inventory information should be handled transparently and protected appropriately.
The bigger picture
Scanning purchases or their receipts establishes what was bought, where it came from, and how much it cost.
Recording what's used up, thrown out, or corrected keeps quantities useful over time.
Inventory can support shopping lists, restocking, and knowing what to use first.
A better supplied household
